Stand Up Paddle Lakes. Stand Up Paddle Surfing isn't Just for Oceans Anymore! SUP Lakes Now!

Lake SUP! Stand Up Paddle Surfing isn't just for oceans anymore. SUP ATX Founder, Nick Matzorkis, started stand up paddling in 2008 in Malibu, California. But, having a house on Lake Austin, in Austin, Texas, he immediately recognized the potential for the sport to take off on lakes and rivers across the United States and around the world. As a lifelong entrepreneur, he launched SUP ATX (Stand Up Paddle Austin Texas) with the mission of introducing and popularizing the sport of stand up paddle surfing on lakes and rivers around the world. SUP ATX has since become the #1 stand up paddle board maker in the world. SUP ATX produces the best quality EPS/Epoxy construction stand up paddleboards and all carbon fiber paddles and sells them at less than half the cost that similar quality stand up paddle boards sold for previously. SUP ATX achieved this with a combination of achieving critical mass with production and an effective online marketing campaign. SUP ATX is producing 10,000 stand up paddleboards in 2010 and is planning on producing 20,000 in 2011.

Lake SUP was popularized in the United States in 2009. The SUP ATX Stand Up Paddle Journey from Malibu to Austin demonstrated to a wide audience that the sport of stand up paddling could be enjoyed on lakes, rivers....anywhere there's water. The following are clips from the Stand Up Paddle Journey. The SUP ATX stand up paddle surf team can be seen paddling on the ocean, lakes, rivers, swimming pools, even a duck pond. SUP Lakes!
